The men's varsity basketball team rallied from a double-digit deficit last Thursday night to defeat Holly Springs, 78-67, in an exciting game. The Imps were led by Cory Gensler's 30 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists as well as Donte Tatum's 24 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. The court was littered with Toys for Tots after the Imps scored their first basket. It was really cool, so thank you for your support of a worthy cause. On Tuesday night, the JV boys basketball team got a much needed win against Panther Creek 59-38. It was a defensive win starting with the play of Dwain Baker. The offense was lead by Alex Clinkscale with 29 points and Great Play from Brian Dulany. Each player contributed to this win!
The Swim Team had an outstanding meet last Wednesday night! The mens’ team dominated, winning FIRST out of four teams, and defeating Enloe 206 to 149. Out of 10 events, the men took first place in 9 of them. The womens' team came in SECOND out of four teams, beating both Heritage and Rolesville High School. Overall this takes the mens' team to 7-2 and the women to 5-4. Excellent job swimmers!

Those seniors graduating in January 2015, that have paid all fees and fines and their $20 senior dues will receive their brand new Cary Green cap and gown during the Early Graduate Senior Meeting on January 7. If you are an early graduate and you have not taken care of fees, fines, and senior dues, please plan to do so before school, during SMART Lunch, or after school in the main office before January 7.
Congratulations to our fabulous DECA (Marketing) club for their strong performance at the regional DECA competition. We had 3 top finalists: Matt Bonestell, Kenzie Krogh, and Chris Rackley. Also bringing in great performances and guaranteed spots to compete on the state level DECA competition in February are: Miles Austin, Kylee Davidson, Emily Davis, Matt Ford, Sheridan Lowell, and Joseph Rojas. The Speech and Debate Team competed at Northwest Guilford High School in Greensboro this past Saturday. Congratulations to Kyle Morgenstein, who placed second in varsity Lincoln-Douglas debate; to Halah Little, who placed second in junior varsity Congressional debate; to Anja de Waal and Daizsa Jones, who placed second in junior varsity public forum debate; and to Marley Peterson and Olivia Schreiner, who placed sixth in duo interpretation. We are proud of all who participated.
The Cary JROTC Marksmanship Team won its Regional Championship in Burlington recently and now the team looks forward to the North and South Carolina Area Championship match to be held in Columbia after the holiday break. Seniors Dana Truong and Jonathan Tran led Cary in the regional, both scoring over 500 points!

Last month, the Cary High School Marching Band competed in Bands of America Grand Nationals at Indianapolis. They competed in a flight of 94 bands from around the country, made semi finals, and finished 28th -- or top 1/3 in the country. Go Imps!

The wrestlers placed 6th in the Orange Invitational this past weekend paced by Cary's only champion Kollin Wade. Tra Shaw placed second while Eric Haas, Luke Fryar, Dylan Aubry all finished fourth. Cary also had two fifth places. All Cary wrestlers won matches to help the cause. Good luck Imps!!
After earning an Outstanding on their Annual Military Inspection on Friday, the Cary High NJROTC unit competed against the best schools throughout North and South Carolina in academics, drill, and physical fitness on Saturday at Myrtle Beach. The Cary cadets earned 3rd place trophies in Varsity and Freshman Color guard and in Unarmed Exhibition Drill. For the third straight competition they also earned the 1st place trophy for Academics. Overall, the Cary team finished in 4th place.
DECA members represented Cary High VERY well on Monday at district competition. At DECA competition on Monday proficiency was earned by Miles Austin, Kylee Davidson, Emily Davis, Matt Ford, Sheriden Lovell, Joseph Rojas, and Alec Roman.
