Tickets are on sale for the musical today! The Cary High School Performing Arts Department presents the musical comedy “Once Upon a Mattress” at 7p.m. Thursday-Saturday, March 12-14, in the auditorium. Tickets are $8 for students and $10 for adults. Tickets may be purchased online at http://caryhsperformingarts.com/ (an additional service charge of 50¢ per ticket will apply).
All tickets purchased online can be picked up at the Will Call Table the night of each show once the Box Office opens (please bring your online receipt with you as proof of purchase). A limited # of tickets will be available to be purchased at the door each night, however, advance purchase of tickets (online) is recommended. The Box Office will open @ 6:15 PM and the doors will open for seating at 6:30 PM on each night of the performance.
The Wake County Public School System announced 26 semifinalists for its 2015-16 Teacher of the Year Award. Candidates are nominated by their peers, and the candidates develop portfolios that highlight the work they do and describe their teaching philosophy. A selection committee chooses 13 finalists who appear before the committee for an interview prior to a winner being chosen. The finalists will be named on April 14, and the winner will be named during an annual school system banquet on May 14.

Cary's top five wrestlers competed very well at Saturday's State Tournament. All five wrestlers won matches and contributed to Cary's top 7 placing. Rod Perry was in the top 12, Tra Shaw top 8, and Reid Stewart top six after a injury in his semi-final bout. Two Cary High wrestlers won States. this weekend scoring huge points for the Imps. Will Clark won his second State title winning by a big margin 13-6, while Kollin Wade wrestled the #1 ranked wrestler defeating him in overtime. For his efforts he was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler for the State Tournament!!
The Speech and Debate Team competed this past Saturday at the district Congress tournament at Fayetteville State University. Special congratulations to Halah Little, who placed first in her chamber and qualified to attend the National Tournament in Congressional Debate this June in Dallas, Texas! Congratulations also to Roger Villarreal, who placed third in his chamber and is the second alternate to attend Nationals. We are proud of all who participated.

Cary High is in need of a new grand piano! You can be part of the effort to purchase the piano! There will be a silent auction held on April 23 during the 8th Annual Green Tie Gala, an extravaganza of entertainment by many of THE Cary High fine arts students. Attention Students: AP exam registration for Cary High School will be open from Wednesday, 2/25 through Monday, 3/9. Students must register for all AP exams using the Total Registration website. More information will be distributed to students during their AP courses this semester. If you are not enrolled in an AP course this semester, you can pick up the information in Student Services beginning on Wednesday, 2/25. Please see Mrs. Strader or Mr. Johnson in Student Services if you have any questions about AP exam registration.
The Senior Activities committee needs pictures of your senior. The photos will be used on poster boards that will be displayed during multiple senior events. (Breakfast, Picnic, Baccalaureate, etc.) They need two photos. 1 COLOR COPY picture of the "Senior" during kindergarten-6th grade years. (pictures will not be returned) and 1 COLOR COPY picture of the "Senior" as they are now. (pictures will not be returned).
Photos to be clearly marked with "first and last" name, and age for both “then and now” pictures. Both COLOR COPY photos need to be placed in an envelope (clearly marked with "first and last" name). The photos are due no later than April 6th. Place in the main office in special marked box that says SENIOR PHOTOS!!

NC State Design Camp is a pre-college design education summer program for middle school and high school students held at the College of Design. Design Camp informs students about college study in design and raises awareness of the impact of design in all aspects of our everyday lives. Sessions are available for rising 7th-12th graders. Registration begins February 19, and sessions fill up fast!
