WCPSS will put new practices into place for the 2014-15 school year with the goal of improving yellow bus service for families.
Families new to Wake County enrolling in school and current families who will be first time users of bus service in 2014-15 will be required to request transportation service. The requests must be completed approximately one month before the start of school to receive first day service.
Impact on families: Families currently enrolled in WCPSS who are using bus service and eligible for bus service next year will automatically be assigned transportation to their address of record and need take no action.
Families who want to ride the bus next year, are not current riders and are eligible for bus service next year will be directed to go online starting on May 30 and request transportation services.

The Baccalaureate Service is an inter-faith service for all Seniors and their families to celebrate their spiritual lives and faith traditions as they mark the end of their high school years. The service will be on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.at Westwood Baptist Church in Cary. Students wishing to offer musical selections should contact Mr. Ed Yasick by May 16th. Students who would like to be readers or speakers should go to Sign Up Genius to indicate your interest. Parents -- donations of food, paper goods, and other contributions are needed as well. The Cary High Arabian Nights Prom will be on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 8:00 pm -11:30 pm in the Cary High School Gymnasium.
Ticket Information: Senior Days! Seniors picking up their free ticket and/or purchasing a guest ticket may do so on Thursday, May 8th, and Friday, May 9th after school in room 1015. [Please bring a photo id!]
Other ticket opportunities for both seniors and juniors: Monday, May 12th through Thursday, May 15th SMART lunch OR after school in ROOM 1015 Friday, May 16th SMART lunch only
Cary High School Seniors receive one free ticket for themselves. Cary High School Juniors and other guests - $35 per person. Students must show a lunch pass or photo id verifying their Junior or Senior status. Students can only buy tickets for themselves and their date.
Students purchasing guest tickets a guest WHO DOES NOT ATTEND CARY HIGH SCHOOL must fill out the guest application. These can be picked up and returned to Mrs. Johnson in the Main Office, or to Mrs. Young (1015) by Wednesday, May 7th.
Prom Rules: All Wake County Discipline Policies and Rules will apply to this event. Students may be asked to present identification when entering the prom. No smoking is permitted inside or outside the prom facility. Any student who smells of alcohol, marijuana, or acts suspiciously will not be admitted to the prom and disciplinary actions will be taken immediately. Students must remain in the designated areas at all times. Students will not be allowed to remain on campus after midnight. Any students exhibiting inappropriate or destructive behavior will be immediately removed from prom.
By purchasing or picking up a complementary ticket, students/guests agree to these rules.
The photographer will be available to take pictures from 8:00 - 11:00pm. Pictures will be taken on a first-come-first-serve basis. We suggest students have pictures taken before entering the Gymnasium. Information on picture packages will be provided during ticket sales, or you can view package information and print an order form from Cary's website as soon as the link is made available. Money is due when pictures are taken on prom night, and checks should be made payable to Prestige. Candid photos will also be taken throughout the night and can be ordered directly on-line (more information forthcoming).
**Dress: This is a formal event - semi-formal or formal attire is suggested.
There will be a Cheerleading Interest meeting held during Smart Lunch A-session on Tuesday and Thursday of next week (April 29 and May 1). Information on tryouts, physicals, current workouts and requirements for summer skills training will be given in the 1st 30 minutes of A lunch.
Students interested in becoming NURSES: Did you know that you must be a certified nursing assistant before you can be accepted into nursing school? If you are trying out for a Spring sport at Cary High in 2014 you will need to register on goimps.com. The registration window will close 3/29/2014.
By using our on-line registration system you will gain access to your team calendar, practices, photos and schedules. Coaches will be able to send text messages to their teams as well as updates and emails. Parents can also receive email updates about practice and game changes. You will need at least 1 of your parent's or guardian's info to complete your online registration. If you already have an account, log in with your user ID and Password and register for your sport.
If you have not down loaded the Mobile App for the goimps.com website, you can do that as well to stay informed of all sporting events happening at Cary High. The Andy Wright Scholarship will be awarded by the Cary-Kildaire Rotary Club to a 2014 graduate residing in the Cary-Apex area. This is a renewable, $2,000 scholarship to attend a 4-year college or university to earn a degree in business. Applications are available at the front desk in Student Services. All materials must reach the Scholarship Committee no later than March 25th.
Attention 9th, 10th, and 11th graders: Course registration for next school year will begin on Monday, March 3rd. You will receive more information regarding the registration process and your registration date through your 2nd period teacher this Thursday. Before your 2nd period class registers for courses in the computer lab, you need to check your network and PowerSchool log-in information. If you need help with your network account, please see your teacher. If you need to reset your PowerSchool account, please see Mrs. Johnson in the Main Office during SMART Lunch before your registration date.

Greetings and a DESIGN CAMP Update from the Design Lab for K-12 Education! We have set the dates for the 2014 Design Camp season! We have expanded this year to include camps for all Middle School and High School grades - three camp series with 6 weeks of Design Camp in all. This is a reminder to 11th and 12th Grade Students with lunch passes: Please remember to be prepared to show your lunch pass coming and going to lunch. This includes drivers and passengers in cars. The student parking lot is off limits during SMART lunch unless you have a pass and are leaving campus.
